We are very happy to announce our First ECR Workshop on Career Development and Science.
The meeting will take place at University College London, hosted by Tom Penfold and the UCL local team.
The aim of this meeting is to help train and develop our early career researchers. The ECR training combines grant writing/pitch meeting guidance, instruction and support for Quantics use and development, and a panel discussion. Additionally, we have an excellent range of scientific talks from leading academics at various stages of their careers.
Location
The arrival and registration, as well as coffee/tea breaks and lunch will be in the Nyholm Room, just past reception of the UCL Department of Chemistry (Christopher Ingold Building), 20 Gordon Street, London WC1H 0AJ. The UCL Campus map location for the Christopher Ingold Building can be found HERE.
The training sessions, panel discussion and talks will be in room G46 HO Schild Pharmacology LT in the UCL Medical Sciences Building, Gower St, London WC1E 6BT. The location of this building can be found HERE.

Hotels
University College London has recommendations for a number of hotels in the area, within the UCL budgetary guidelines (max £180 per night).
Under 10 mins walk from UCL, in the Bloomsbury area of London, there are the Royal National Hotel and the Tavistock Hotels. These two hotels are part of the Imperial Hotels Group and booking can be made through the Imperial Hotels site.
Near Russel Square (approx. 15 mins walk to UCL) is the Grange Hotels Group comprising 4 hotels. Within the UCL budgetary guidelines are the Grange Beauchamp, Grange Clarendon and Grange Portland. The booking for these can be accessed through the Grange Hotels site.
There are a large number of hotels within walking distance from UCL. Most booking sites will accept Univesity College London (main campus) as a location. Searches near Euston Station and Kings Cross St Pancras Station should also yield some good options. Please note: depending on your preferences, it is worth checking if the rooms have things like shared bathrooms and whether breakfast is available etc.
